Hi everyone! I'm late again into writing another blog but I've been busy getting ready for college starting. Anyways, I wanted to do a blog reviewing certain nail polish brands that I've never used before, that I bought over the past week.

First I picked up an Essie, because I totally fell in love with the color. I know kinda crazy I've never tried Essie! But from now on I will be wearing them much more often! This first color I picked up is from their spring 2010 collection which features colors inspired from the arts, giving it the collection name, "The Art of Spring Collection." Many of the colors looked amazing to me but I decided to go with this shocking orange-red that stood out from the pastels.  The color "Red Nouveau," is a beautiful smooth matte color. I found the application of it to be very easy and it only took two coats for the color to be true to bottle. I will definitely pick up more from Essie in the future.

The next nail polish I bought was from Hard Candy. I'm so happy Urban Decay brought our favorite brand back and not only with amazing new products but at Wal*Mart! I believe the nail polish was priced at just $5.00, which made it hard not to pick up more than one! How inexpensive is that!? I love it :-) So the color I decided on was the one that I thought looked the most unique and that one was called "Frenzy." "Frenzy," is a bright blue and somewhat teal color that applies in one coat as it's so thick. This color reminds me of Listerine Mouth Wash, it's that vibrant mint looking blue-green and I really don't know if I've seen another color like it. I loved the application of this polish and needless to say I would pay more for it if I had to!

Lastly, I tried the ever popular but rummaged through and left hanging on the store shelf in the dust brand "Love My Nails." There's a reason why it sells for only $.78 cents, but I love it when I find nail polish with little shaped confetti suspended in gloss so I unfortunately picked a couple up. They had two colors that I liked, "Crazy For You," and "Cosmos." "Crazy For You," is a clear gloss nail polish with bright shiny red hearts floating about in it. "Cosmos," on the other hand is a clear gloss polish with blue star confetti inside of it. The polishes look so cute, but the problem with them is getting it to go on, and then stay on your nails. The brush for each bottle is so thin and plastic-like (Like those little sets of paintbrushes you got as a kid that were plastic bristles,) that you really can't manage to pick up any of the confetti on the brush, and once you've tried the fourth or fifth time and finally have two hearts on your brush, putting them on your nails takes forever because the gloss itself is goopy, thick, and smears the confetti off your nail every time you apply it. Maybe if I switch caps from a different bottle or buy a couple NYC Nail polishes in clear that have a better brush, I'd be able to get some use out of this cute polish. I love how the bottle says "For that deep wet look." Yes that might actually happen if the nail polish ever dries! I think the bottle is telling you this because the polish stays wet!

So there you have it, a little review about three nail polish brands you could try! If you were to ask me, I mostly recommend Essie out of the three mentioned here. :-)

My sister's mad because I havent written a blog in a week but whatever. There isn't much to blog about. I've fallen in love with "Mrs. O'leary's Barbeque" because I watched an episode of  "The OC," where the deep wine OPI shade looked phenomenol on Mischa Barton. It is love love love.

Worst swatch ever I know.

Oh this is cute!! So I've decided that if my doggie had a voice box he would talk with a lisp. I responded in his voice as "Yeth I do," when I told my mom. I've always wondered how dogs sound, what language they would speak, and if they have a lot to say or if we pretty much know what's on their mind. I apply a generous amount of lipstick/gloss in my makeup routine, and when I leave the house I kiss my little puppy on the forehead between his ears. It leaves a bright pink imprint on his fur but for some strange reason the mark is always, always gone when I arrive back home. Maybe its like in those images of grandma when she kisses you on the cheek and you cringe and wipe it off. To this my doggie probably replies, "Oh, Thees Kitthing me again!

La la lalala 9 Days left until the new OPI Hong Kong Collection is out!

Helping Haiti

When I see people suffering and in absolute horror of losing their loved one's or just barely surviving, the last thing I feel I should be doing, is spending money on material things when it can go to people who really are in need. That being said, for every nail polish I purchased over the past week, I will donate ten dollars through the text message service to Haiti. How can I possibly be spending money on myself knowing that if I were in these peoples' situation I would want all the help I could get.

It's super easy to donate for these people who just faced a catastrophic event. This link here, will take you to a listing of phone numbers, and websites where you can make a donation.

The way I will be donating money is through the American Red Cross foundation's text message service;
By texting the word "HAITI" to 90999 an  amount of $10.00 will be automatically  added to your cellphone bill.

By following that link, and going to CNN.COM you can find many legitimate ways to donate to those in Haiti. Don't forget that community sites like Facebook have also created their own group efforts to make donations. God Bless!

On a side note, something interesting. If you own an Apple iPod Touch or iPhone, you can download the App called "5-0 Radio," which is an emergency police and fire radio scanner. After downloading, you can click on "Browse Scanner Feeds," and it will take you to the option of choosing a country. Click "Haiti," then after picking Countrywide, and Statewide, you can listen to relief efforts in effect right now happening live in Haiti. It really gives you the mindset of what's going on in this part of the world. I think the App sells for $1.99 and you can download it straight from iTunes.

New Nail Polish

What a week it has been! Especially due to this! As my New Year's Resolution, I wanted to get into the hobby of vlogging and blogging! I was lucky enough to get my hands on a brand new Kodak Zi8 Pocket Camcorder this Christmas. What better way to start off the new year with new beauty guru and style tip videos. It's been a slow process and I haven't uploaded any videos yet but they are in the making! I'm excited to be starting my new, and first, blog where I can share all my favorite beauty products with fellow girls out there who are interested. This past week I was able to get my "nails" tee hee, on EIGHT, eight! eight great new nail polishes. Two of which are from famed brand Deborah Lippmann, also known as the Lippmann Collection, five are from scattered collections of OPI, and one is a Nicole that I just had to pick up knowing Valentines day was soon approaching.
If you're unfamiliar with the Lippmann Collection, it's a set of about twenty different colored nail polishes that apply on smooth and are long lasting. Deborah Lippmann is a celebrity manicurist and polishes within her collection are created with or made for various celebrity's. As for myself, I'd rather start a trend instead of follow a celebrity's choice. I was flattered when a Sales Clerk at a Beauty Store was inspired to paint her nails the same color I had on mine, and if you don't know, OPI's new collection based off the "Alice In Wonderland" movie coming out this spring has hit all your favorite beauty stores! Getting to that later, The Lippmann Collection has shades that have been featured on Oprah, Regis and Kelly, and in many magazines. I'm a huge country music listening, and I also have a problem with buying things for their name, so I picked up the color created for Sarah Jessica Parker, "Sarah Smile", which reminded me of that heart-warming song by Hall & Oates, as well as "Dream a little dream of me." Both of these colors can be found on numerous websites that sell the Lippmann Collection. To me they are love love love. "Sarah Smile," is a very sheer, peach, yellow, and cream shade that goes on beautifully. "Dream a little dream of me," however, takes more than three coats to become true to bottle, but once it has, it looks like fresh strawberry frosting on a donut. You can find these nail polishes here. Hands down, OPI is my favorite nail polish brand. It goes on smooth and lasts long, and I have to admit I am definitely someone who often buys things for their name, so I have a huge obsession when it comes to OPI. The colors I most recently picked up are, "Give me the moon," which is a very futuristic looking silver with a hint of sheer blue glitter which makes this color very pretty. It is very similar to China Glazes' "Sci-Fi." Next I picked up "Hearts and Tarts," Which is a very sheer pink that looks very shiny and glittery when dry. I love soft shades that still draw a lot of attention, so I also purchased "Up Front and Personal." Wow, it's probably one of my favorite OPI shades. It's sheer gold and is just beautiful. It kind of reminds me of the deep topaz-like glitter found in OPI's "My Private Jet."

OPI Up Front And Personal

Since I buy so many sheer neutral shades, the next two I picked up made a color pop in my collection and they are "Pink Flamenco," and "Strawberry Margarita." I have not yet tried these both but they will definitely be my 'pinks of choice' for Valentine's Day. The last nail polish shade I bought this week will go perfectly with any pink! It's a silver and pink glitter top coat by Nicole, called "Love Your Life," and it has little pink confetti hearts inside. I love this for painting over red's, gold's and especially pinks! I can't wait to give another update!

Lacquer on my piggies: OPI "Dutch Tulips", with a top coat of Nicole "Love Your Life"
Nails: OPI's Alice In Wonderland Collection, "Mad as a Hatter"

How crazy is this! This tarnished silver Owl ring matches dead on with "Mad as a Hatter" By OPI :-)
Until next time, stay girly!
